NSW Health provides healthcare in one of the world’s most sparsely populated jurisdictions. As a result, air transport is a critical enabler of healthcare delivery, particularly for residents of regional, rural and remote NSW. In response to recommendation 4 of the Parliamentary Inquiry into Health outcomes and access to health and hospital services in rural, regional and remote NSW, NSW Health has completed a review of funding for non-emergency fixed wing air transport.
The review makes a number of recommendations to improve the effectiveness and sustainability of non-emergency fixed wing which are currently being progressed by NSW Health.
